PRODUCT OVERVIEW: AHA 8 Astringent is formulated as an introductory glycolic product to be used on various skin types and conditions. Its low pH and moderate glycolic acid content is a perfect combination to be used on new clients as well as experienced glycolic users. For new users, it is important to remind them that a slight tingle is normal and will subside within a few minutes. If discomfort continues, using a cotton ball (water applied) over entire face will help reduce the effects of the glycolic acid and stop its action.
It does take time for new users or sensitive skin types to become familiar with alpha hydroxy acids so patience and education are key. The following sample protocols will help guide you.
STARTER GUIDELINES
Normal or Dry Skin: Use a cotton round on dry face, apply a liberal amount of AHA 8 astringent and apply to face. Allow to air dry before the next product. Do not repeat.
Oily Skin / Acne: Use a cotton round on dry face, apply a liberal amount of AHA 8 astringent. Allow to air dry before the next product. Repeat twice if excessive oil remains.
Combination: Use a cotton round on dry face, apply a liberal amount of AHA 8 astringent. Concentrate application on areas of skin that are more oily using the remainder on areas of skin that are more dry or sensitive. Allow to air dry before the next product. Do not repeat.
Sensitive Skin: Use a cotton round on dry face, apply a small amount of AHA 8 astringent. Do not let air dry. Allow to stand for a minute or two and proceed with the water soaked cotton ball, then let air dry. Continue with treatment protocols. The goal is to gain the benefits from the active ingredient without causing too much irritation.
